Chronic inflammation is a persistent, low-grade inflammatory response that can contribute to various health issues by damaging tissues, cells and organs.

While some symptoms of chronic inflammation may be more obvious, there are also subtle and less apparent signs that could indicate ongoing inflammation.

Inflammation may manifest as skin problems like eczema, psoriasis, or unexplained rashes. Persistent skin issues that don’t respond well to conventional treatments may be linked to chronic inflammation.

Inflammation in the digestive tract which is tied to microbiome imbalance, can lead to symptoms such as bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea, or abdominal pain. Chronic inflammation might contribute to conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or more serious conditions such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease ( IBD- Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis).

While joint pain is a more obvious symptom, persistent low-level joint or muscle discomfort or stiffness, especially in the absence of injury, may be a sign of chronic inflammation.

Cognitive symptoms like difficulty concentrating, memory issues, or brain fog could be linked to chronic inflammation affecting the brain. Inflammation in the central nervous system may contribute to cognitive dysfunction.

Chronic inflammation may interfere with hormonal regulation and metabolism, leading to unexplained weight gain. This can be particularly evident in abdominal fat.

Increased sensitivity to allergens, or the development of new allergies, could be indicative of an overactive immune response, suggesting chronic inflammation.

Chronic inflammation has been linked to changes in mood, including increased feelings of anxiety or depression. Chronic fatigue or persistent tiredness may be associated with inflammation.

Paying special attention to our diet, avoiding processed foods and consuming organic whole foods with emphasis on plant-based diet, will reduce chronic inflammation and improve overall health.
